Broken LCD
:
A result of rough handling, broken & cracked LCDs are typically easy to identify. They often form 'spider lines' and appear as though the they are 'bleeding' inside.

Additionally, failing LCDs may develop bright magenta, green, cyan or black horizontal & vertical lines. This is usually the result of a bad column/row driver which means the LCD needs to be replaced.

LCD Display Cable:
Typically the result of physical stress, a failing (LVDS) display cable can keep your LCD from displaying some or *any* color at all. Despite this, the panel will still light up as the backlight is powered by a different cable. Also, a garbled or fuzzy picture is often the result of a bad LVDS cable too.

Backlight/Inverter:
Dark screen? Many LCDs use a fluorescent light to light the screen (A CCFL). This backlight can fail or break, leaving your LCD panel very dark. If it isn't the CCFL, it is almost certainly the FL inverter which provides power to the backlight.

Additionally, a weak inverter or failing CCFL may also cause the LCD to flicker or cast a pinkish hue.

New laptops use LED panels which can suffer from similar symptoms, but for different reasons.

I repair all brands of laptops, including Acer, Apple/Mac, Asus, Avaratec, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba and others.

· Same-day turn around

I keep a broad assortment of LCD panels in stock, so I probably have the one you need. This means most laptops are finished the same day. I'll even do it at your location when possible for $99 + parts or offer free drop-off once it is finished.

If I don't have your LCD screen, when I place an order, it typically only takes about 4 business days or less.

· Name Brand LCD panels

The brands I sell are Samsung, LG/Philips and AU Optronics. They are the three largest LCD manufacturers in the world.

Most LCD screen panels I sell include a 3-month warranty against defects and even dead/stuck pixels... which many shops won't cover.

Clients are often told by computer shops that they carry "genuine LCD screens" for their laptops. There's no such thing! Even for a single laptop model, manufacturers use many different, compatible LCD brands and LCD models. I use the same LCD brands/models that every major manufacturer uses (ie. Dell, HP, Sony, IBM/Lenovo, Acer, Gateway and Apple). While I can't guarantee it, often times I do have the same exact LCD as your original.

· NO price gouging

When it comes to parts, you basically pay what I pay. I make my money on the labor. You'll find some shops charging $39 to fix any computer problem, but then charge $200 for the LCD panel (Actual quote for a $80 LCD panel!). I think that's a bad way to do business.

Rather than gouging clients on parts, if I buy an LCD for $90, I'll charge you about $95+tax. That's it.

· FREE home service

For much of West LA, including the following areas (alphabetical order):
Baldwin Hills, Brentwood, Chevoit Hill,s Culver City, Fox Hills, Ladera Heights, Machado, Mar Vista, Marina Del Rey, Miracle Mile, Pacific Palisades, Palms, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista, Rancho Park, Santa Monica, Studio Village, Venice, Westchester, Westwood If I need to take your laptop back with me, don't worry: When I'm finished, I'll deliver it to you free of charge.

If you live far out outside the west LA area, I may charge a small amount extra. I'll let you know.

· How about a lower price?

If you need a lower price, I may be able to help. If you don't mind waiting a few days... and you don't mind a used LCD panel (no warranty from myself or the manufacturer), I might be able to replace your screen for around $140.

· Can I buy just the LCD?

Sorry. Since I don't really profit on the LCD screens, it doesn't make much sense for me to sell them.
